Company profile
YTO Cargo Airlines Co., Ltd. was founded in September 2014 and began commercial operations in October 2015. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of YTO Express Co., Ltd. and the only cargo carrier in Zhejiang province operating large aircraft on public air transport under CCAR-121. Registered capital is RMB 400 million. The main base is Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport and the administrative head office is on Konggang Avenue at the airport. The business covers scheduled and non-scheduled air cargo and mail carriage domestically (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) and internationally. As the group's own aviation arm, YTO Cargo Airlines supplies the air trunk capacity for the entire YTO Express network, and its fleet and routes work closely with the express network and YTO Global's overseas stations.
For Chinese shippers the core value of YTO Cargo Airlines is the steady flow of e-commerce and express cargo behind it. The Yangtze River Delta is the core export region for Chinese cross-border e-commerce, textiles, auto parts and consumer electronics, and with Hangzhou and Jiaxing as twin hubs YTO Cargo Airlines loads Zhejiang-made goods and e-commerce parcels directly onto its own freighters for Asia-Pacific and Middle Eastern markets, cutting out intermediate capacity purchases. At the end of the reporting period in YTO Express's 2026 interim report the owned fleet numbered about 13 aircraft: 10 Boeing 757-200 freighters, 2 Boeing 767-300 freighters and 1 Chinese-built ARJ21-700 freighter. Industry reports put the fleet at around 14, with widebody and heavy freighters to follow in support of intercontinental routes. The airline has opened more than 160 cargo routes in total, and its international network reaches more than 150 countries and regions across six continents through YTO Global.
At the end of 2025 the Oriental Skyport at Jiaxing Nanhu Airport in Zhejiang entered service as the first dedicated air cargo hub in the Yangtze River Delta. YTO Cargo Airlines bases freighter capacity there and plans several international cargo routes in 2026, the first to Budapest and Seoul and then to Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Europe. The hub is modelled on the hub operations of the international express integrators, moving YTO Cargo Airlines from a point-to-point carrier to a hub-and-spoke cargo platform: Chinese shippers' cargo can be consolidated, screened and sorted at Jiaxing and then flown to Asia with connections to Europe and North America. The corporate website is yto.net.cn and cargo tracking is provided through the YTO Global platform ytoglobal.com; no public information can be verified for a separate ytoaircargo.com domain, so the carrier's published information on the day governs. YTO Cargo Airlines is an IATA-registered carrier with IATA code YG, ICAO code HYT and accounting code 375, and its documentation and operations follow IATA industry standards. As a cargo airline grown in Zhejiang, its capacity deployment follows the export economy of Zhejiang and the Yangtze River Delta and the structure of regional foreign trade.
Freighter fleet and aircraft types
YTO Cargo Airlines flies the Boeing 757-200 freighter as its current main type, the Boeing 767-300 freighter on medium and long-haul and intercontinental work, and the Chinese-built ARJ21-700 freighter on domestic and short sectors. The mix fits the Asia-Pacific short and medium-haul cargo market: the 757 freighter carries a moderate payload and works economically on Northeast Asian and Southeast Asian routes, while the 767 freighter's fuel burn and range support medium and long sectors such as Hangzhou to Dubai and Budapest. Payload figures are compiled from manufacturer and carrier published data; actual payload is subject to carrier confirmation at booking.
Boeing 757-200F
The largest freighter type in the current fleet, about 10 aircraft, with a main deck that takes several ULDs and pallets and a published payload in the 30-tonne class, suited to high-frequency, densely scheduled e-commerce routes in Northeast and Southeast Asia. Hangzhou to Osaka, Seoul and Manila and Ningbo to Osaka, Bangkok, Hanoi and Seoul are largely flown with this type, the backbone of the Asia-Pacific network.
Boeing 767-300F
About 2 to 3 aircraft in service, with more payload and range than the 757 for medium and long-haul and intercontinental work. The Hangzhou to Dubai freighter route is flown with the Boeing 767, whose first flight carried about 45 tonnes of apparel and auto parts to the Middle East; the first international route from the Jiaxing Oriental Skyport was also flown by a Boeing 767 in Jiaxing livery, planned for several rotations a week.
ARJ21-700 freighter
YTO Cargo Airlines operates one Chinese-built ARJ21-700 freighter, the C909 cargo configuration, as supplementary capacity on domestic and short sectors, a notable case of a Chinese-built aircraft entering commercial cargo service. The type suits multi-sector domestic regional work and small, frequent consignments, pairing short and long sectors with the Boeing trunk freighters.
For Chinese shippers this fleet mix means high-frequency 757 space to Northeast and Southeast Asia, medium and long-haul direct 767 space to the Middle East, Central Asia and Europe, and extra capacity through additional sections and charters during peak volume periods. The plan to add widebody and heavy freighters has been published, and intercontinental capacity will grow as the fleet is renewed; the timing of introduction and entry into service follows carrier announcements.
Airports and gateways in China
YTO Cargo Airlines runs from Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport as its main base and has developed Hangzhou and Jiaxing as twin hubs, with cargo points at domestic airports including Ningbo, Kunming, Xi'an, Changsha, Zhengzhou and Tianjin. Shippers can deliver at the nearest gateway, with domestic sectors feeding cargo into Hangzhou or Jiaxing for international departures. The table lists the main operating airports and directions from public sources; schedules change with season and market, times are local, and actual schedules are subject to carrier confirmation at booking.
The table is compiled from public sources and some former routes may have changed with the season; no single published timetable covers current frequencies at each gateway, which are subject to carrier confirmation at booking.
International cargo markets served from China
The international network of YTO Cargo Airlines radiates from Hangzhou and Jiaxing towards five directions: Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Central Asia and the Middle East, and extends to Europe through the Jiaxing hub. In Northeast Asia it operates scheduled freighter routes from Hangzhou to Osaka and Hangzhou to Seoul and flies cargo from Ningbo to Osaka and Seoul, with former routes to Tokyo also on record. In Southeast Asia, Hangzhou to Manila was its first international freighter route from Hangzhou, alongside Hangzhou to Kuala Lumpur and Hangzhou to Singapore, Xi'an to Bangkok, Ningbo to Bangkok and Hanoi, and Changsha to Manila and Dhaka, covering the main markets of the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam and Bangladesh.
In South Asia the airline operates Kunming to Delhi and Kunming to Mumbai all-cargo routes approved by the CAAC, holds fifth freedom rights on the Delhi to Dubai and Mumbai to Dubai sectors, and has formerly served Kunming to Lahore and Kunming to Karachi, so it can carry cargo for the Indian subcontinent and the wider South Asian region. In the Middle East, the Hangzhou to Dubai freighter route opened in December 2023 with the Boeing 767, initially three times a week, carrying apparel, auto parts and other Zhejiang-made goods direct to a Middle Eastern distribution centre; Riyadh is also in network plans following the South Asian traffic rights. In Central Asia the carrier opened the region as early as 2018 with charters from Tianjin to Astana and Almaty, and the Hangzhou to Tashkent route has added capacity in recent years. In Europe the first international routes from Jiaxing Nanhu Airport fly direct to Budapest, with connections planned to eastern and central European cargo hubs.
These directions cover the main air hubs of Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Hungary. Some routes are historical records and current frequencies change with the season. Shippers sending cargo in these directions can check seasonal space through YTO Cargo Airlines agency channels, and should secure peak-season space early. On the return leg, routes from the Middle East, South Asia and Southeast Asia can carry seafood, seasonal produce and cross-border imports, creating two-way flows that improve per-flight load factors and route economics.
Freight advantages for Chinese shippers
Cargo synergy with the express group
YTO Cargo Airlines is the in-house fleet of YTO Express and works with the whole express network and YTO Global's overseas stations, so e-commerce parcels and commercial express shipments go straight into owned freighter space. Capacity supply follows the express departure rhythm, group cargo has priority in peak season, and outside shippers can share the steady capacity through an agent.
Twin hubs in the Yangtze River Delta
The Hangzhou Xiaoshan main base plus the Jiaxing Oriental Skyport cargo hub put Zhejiang manufacturing and Yangtze River Delta e-commerce cargo close to the airport; after consolidation and sorting at Jiaxing, freighters radiate across Asia-Pacific, with short domestic connections and few handling steps for more controllable departure times.
Dense, high-frequency Asia-Pacific network
Routes to Northeast and Southeast Asia are dense, with multiple rotations to Osaka, Seoul, Manila and Bangkok; the Boeing 757 offers flexible frequencies for small, frequent cross-border e-commerce shipments, and shippers can choose between the Hangzhou and Ningbo gateways on the same direction.
Medium and long-haul and intercontinental reach
Boeing 767 freighters fly Middle Eastern trunk routes such as Hangzhou to Dubai, the first Jiaxing routes fly direct to Budapest and South Asian rights extend to the Middle East, giving Chinese shippers direct or single-connection access to the Middle East, Central Asia and central and eastern Europe.
Peak-season flexibility
For e-commerce peaks such as Singles' Day and Black Friday, YTO Cargo Airlines can add capacity through extra sections and charters and reserve space for volume e-commerce cargo in advance; an owned fleet can be rescheduled more flexibly than capacity bought on the spot market.
Chinese-built aircraft and cost advantage
The fleet is led by the Boeing 757 and includes the Chinese-built ARJ21 freighter, giving competitive unit costs on short and medium sectors; group-scale purchasing and hub operations spread ground costs further, keeping rates relatively favourable for Chinese exporters.
Booking path from China
Chinese shippers book mainly through YTO Cargo Airlines authorised cargo agents or qualified international freight forwarders. The carrier is responsible for the flight and space, the agent handles quoting, documents and gateway coordination, and cargo handed over at Hangzhou, Jiaxing or another operating airport enters the freighter mainline. The steps follow.
Provide cargo volume details
The shipper gives commodity, weight, volume, origin gateway and destination station to a freight forwarder for a quote.
Confirm space and rate
The agent verifies the YTO Cargo Airlines flight and space, issues a rate proposal and locks the departure date.
Delivery to the cargo terminal
Cargo is delivered as agreed to the cargo terminal at Hangzhou, Jiaxing or the nearest operating airport for handover and screening.
Customs clearance and loading
After export declaration and document review, the cargo is loaded to the booked space and departs on the freighter.
Pickup at destination
The consignee collects at the destination airport or a local agent completes onward delivery.
We coordinate on your behalf
We can verify capacity, prepare the waybill documents and coordinate ground handling at the Chinese gateway.
An international freight forwarder must hold the relevant qualifications and provide an accurate commodity description and declared value at booking; dangerous goods and special cargo must be declared in advance with compliant documents. Export bookings require a commercial invoice, packing list and declaration data, with additional transport documents for dangerous goods, lithium batteries and temperature-controlled cargo. Shippers submit through a qualified agent, which confirms space, issues the air waybill and coordinates declaration. Once the carrier confirms flight and space on the day of booking, cargo is delivered to the terminal at the agreed time, with clear steps and clear lines of responsibility.
Specialist freight services
Specialist services address the common needs of Chinese shippers, covering e-commerce express, perishable cold chain, apparel and auto parts, whole-aircraft charters and gateway handling, and each can be requested through the forwarder at booking.
E-commerce and express line
Drawing on YTO Express volumes and high-frequency Asia-Pacific routes, the line offers dedicated capacity for cross-border e-commerce batches, with space reservation and whole-aircraft capacity blocks, so peak-season volume can lock Hangzhou and Ningbo space in advance.
Perishable cold chain fast lane
YTO Cargo Airlines freighters have carried large volumes of Yunnan matsutake mushrooms through Hangzhou for direct flights to Osaka, with domestic and international flights relayed to cut the time perishables spend in transit; fresh and seasonal produce can use direct freighter space to stay fresh.
Apparel and auto parts exports
The first Hangzhou to Dubai flight carried about 45 tonnes of apparel and auto parts, and cargo from Zhejiang's textile and auto component clusters can fly direct to a Middle Eastern distribution centre for onward regional distribution.
Whole-aircraft charters and extra sections
YTO Cargo Airlines offers whole freighter charters, and its owned fleet can provide extra sections or charters for large, time-critical consignments, with dedicated capacity by sector for peak-season and project cargo.
Gateway handling and own-sale routes
YTO Global provides apron unloading, import tally and corporate pickup at air gateways and operates own-sale route products, so shippers get integrated ground handling at the departure gateway.
Overseas station network
YTO Global has overseas subsidiaries and offices in a number of countries and regions, and cargo can connect to local delivery networks after the freighter arrives; tracking is available on the YTO Global cargo tracking platform.
China contact
YTO Cargo Airlines Co., Ltd. is based at Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport in Zhejiang province, with its administrative head office on Konggang Avenue at the airport and its website at yto.net.cn; cargo tracking is provided through the YTO Global platform ytoglobal.com. No public directory of directly operated cargo booking offices for outside shippers is available, so we suggest contacting the airline's authorised local agents in China, or asking us to coordinate space and operations. We can verify seasonal space, prepare air waybill documents and coordinate ground handling at Hangzhou, Jiaxing and other gateways; contact details appear at the end.
