Guyana Customs Import and Export Policy

Customs Management Regulations and Rules

[Management System] As a member of CARICOM, Guyana implements the Common External Tariff (CETs), and products that meet the origin criteria can flow duty-free between member countries. Tariff revenue, as the main source of government revenue, is collected by the Guyana Revenue Authority.

[Tariff Rate] Guyana adopts internationally accepted bound tariffs and single tariffs. The overall level of tariffs currently implemented has been reduced, and tariff protection measures are implemented for Guyana's major industrial sectors and products. As a member of the Caribbean Community and Common Market (CARICOM), Guyana maintains a Common External Tariff (CETs) rate of between 5% and 20%. All tariffs are levied on an ad valorem or value-added basis. The 40% tariff rate only applies to agricultural products subject to CETs.
