Montenegro Customs Import and Export Policy
Trade Regulations
Montenegro is a candidate country for the European Union, and its trade regulations are gradually converging with EU regulations. The most important laws related to trade in Montenegro are the Foreign Trade Law, the Customs Law and the Customs Tariff Law.
Customs Management Regulations
Montenegro Customs management is regulated by the Customs Law. The Customs Tariff Law stipulates that the Montenegrin government determines the tariff level for the next year in November each year based on WTO obligations and other international treaties, and generally issues a customs tariff government order in December. The government order includes the customs tariff schedule, the list of duty-free medicines, the list of import quota goods and the list of least developed countries with tariff preferences. The customs tariff schedule includes ordinary tariffs and preferential tariffs.
