Morocco Customs Management Regulations and Rules
[Management System]
In order to promote foreign trade, especially export trade, the Moroccan government implements a complete set of customs economic systems. In addition to reducing tariffs, simplifying customs clearance procedures, and implementing a valuation system for certain imported goods, a bonded, tax-free and tax refund system is implemented for the storage, processing, use and circulation of goods.
[Tariff Rate]
In general, Morocco's tariff level is relatively high. Morocco imposes low tariffs on industrial equipment that cannot be produced in the country and is beneficial to corporate innovation, and imposes higher tariff rates on goods that may compete with domestic industries, such as plastic products, textiles, leather, and footwear. In January 2020, Morocco Customs announced that the import tariff on consumer finished products would be increased from 25% to 30%.
