Georgia is served on our Europe/Black Sea routing through two points: the port of Poti and the inland capital Tbilisi, which is fed from Poti. Shanghai and Shenzhen run direct consolidations to Poti; Chongqing reaches Tbilisi through the same gateway.

The headline figure here is unusually low — USD 5 per CBM from Shanghai to Tbilisi and USD 7 from Chongqing — because the inland leg is billed separately by the Georgian agent. Treat those two as port-to-port ocean figures only, and ask for a local-cost estimate before you build them into a landed-cost calculation.

ENS applies. Georgia consolidations are booked on the Europe service, so every bill of lading carries a USD 25 ENS filing (EU pre-arrival security declaration). It is charged per shipment, not per cubic metre.

Read the Tbilisi rates carefully. USD 5 and USD 7 per CBM are ocean-only figures for the sea leg to Poti; the Tbilisi road and clearance leg is billed by the destination agent. Budget for it separately.

Poti or Tbilisi?

Poti is Georgia's main Black Sea port and almost every consolidation lands there. Tbilisi is 300 km inland and reached by road. Shipping to Poti and arranging the inland truck yourself is usually cheaper overall than buying a through rate to Tbilisi, because the through rate does not include the Georgian agent's local charges.

Charging standard and multi-CBM consolidation

All four lanes use the standard 1 CBM = 1,000 kg conversion, with a 1 CBM minimum. Chongqing is our one-stop origin: inland pickup, export packing and customs are arranged by us before the cargo is railed to the loading port, which is why it can reach Tbilisi in 36 days — a day faster than Shanghai despite the extra domestic leg.

Yes. Shanghai and Shenzhen both run direct consolidations to Poti with MSC, taking about 35 days. Tbilisi is always reached through Poti.

Why are the Tbilisi rates so low?

Because they cover only the ocean leg to Poti. USD 5–7 per CBM is the sea freight; the 300 km road leg and Georgian clearance are charged locally by the destination agent.

Is there an ENS charge on Georgia shipments?

Yes, USD 25 per bill of lading, because the cargo moves on the Europe service. It is charged once per shipment regardless of volume.
