Current freight from China to the USA
Notice on the update of US tariff policy and the operational requirements of Hong Kong FEDEX for express delivery to the United States
Due to the further deterioration of the trade war between China and the United States, the US tariff on goods shipped from China to the United States has soared to 125% since April 10, 2025, and the tension may continue to escalate. In addition, the tax-free policy for goods imported into the United States and declared below USD800 will be cancelled from May 2. All of the above may cause the recipient to refuse to pay tariffs. Our company hereby reminds you that for all goods sent to the United States or other countries, please make sure in advance that the recipient can pay the tariff normally!
International express companies such as UPS, FedEx, and DHL adopt the "delivery first and then settlement" model, that is, the international express package will be sent to the recipient only after the delivery of the package. Tax and other miscellaneous fee bills will be issued. This model applies to all countries. In this mode, there are two common situations, which may cause the sender to pay taxes and other miscellaneous fees because the recipient is unwilling to pay:
1. For customs duties payable, if the recipient refuses to pay, fails to pay within the specified period, or deliberately does not pay taxes, the taxes and other miscellaneous fees incurred at the destination will be paid by the sender. If the goods are eventually returned or abandoned, the unpaid customs duties, return fees and other related miscellaneous fees of the recipient will also be borne by the sender!
2. After delivery, if the recipient fails to pay taxes and other miscellaneous fees in time, the relevant fees will also be paid by the sender.
In order to avoid such risks and subsequent troubles, please be sure to communicate fully with the consignor and consignee before shipping to clarify the bearer and payment method of the customs duties.
If the above-mentioned recipient fails to pay the customs duties, our company will strictly follow the bill and unconditionally recover the full amount of taxes, miscellaneous fees and handling fees from the sender. The recovery period is long and not limited by time, and our company does not accept any form of appeal.
In addition, Hong Kong FEDEX International Express has notified that from March 25, all goods sent to the United States must comply with the following operating requirements:
1. The invoice accompanying the goods must indicate the 10-digit US HS CODE;
2. For all textiles, clothing, and FDA goods, the invoice accompanying the goods must indicate the manufacturer identification code (MID CODE).
For all goods that do not comply with the above requirements, Hong Kong FEDEX International Express will forcibly return them to the shipper, and the resulting pick-up fees will be borne by the shipper. Please be informed and inform the sender that before shipping the goods, the accompanying materials must be strictly checked to see if they comply with the regulations, otherwise all delays and costs incurred will be borne by the shipper. Thank you!
