Egypt Customs Import and Export Taxes
[Overview]Whether individuals or business entities are engaged in the import of goods into Egypt, they must pay import duties and other taxes. All import duties and taxes are calculated based on the freight value, i.e. the CIF price. At the same time, imported goods are also subject to consumption tax, inspection fees, and service fees.
[VAT]The standard VAT rate is 10%, but there are also VAT rates between 15% and 45% for certain imported goods. VAT = VAT rate × (CIF price + applicable tariffs).
[Tax threshold]All customs duties, consumption taxes and other taxes in Egypt have no threshold and are levied regardless of the value of the imported goods.
[Others]Inspection fees: Fees levied on certain specific products, calculated by unit of measurement, such as weight or quantity. Service fees: Fees levied on certain specific products, calculated by unit of measurement, such as weight or quantity.
