DHL Price List for Sending Masks from China Worldwide

One sheet covered six destination groups — North America, Oceania and three European tiers — with the fuel surcharge built in.

Prices in RMB per shipment. The six destination groups: Canada; the United States; Australia and New Zealand; Western Europe A (Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Italy, Germany, France, the UK); Western Europe B (Austria, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Ireland, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland); and Central/Eastern Europe (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania). Other destinations served at the time included San Marino, the Vatican, Monaco, Guernsey, Jersey, Liechtenstein, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta and Slovakia.

What the price includes

Excluded: possible additional charges such as the DHL remote-area surcharge.

Will customs detain the masks?

For personal-use quantities within a reasonable range — we suggested keeping each shipment under 1,000 pieces — shipments were not detained. As of early March 2020, shipments to the US, Canada, Australia, Germany, the UK and Italy had all cleared without detention. EU countries required a CE certificate for commercial imports and the US required FDA registration, but those controls targeted commercial imports by companies.

Why does DHL say mask export is prohibited?

First, distinguish the carrier refusing the shipment from China prohibiting the export. Our channel collected in Shenzhen and exported through DHL Hong Kong, where no export restriction applied. Where mainland exports were refused, the cause was usually missing shipper documentation or poor product quality.

How to place an order

Contact our salesperson; you receive the delivery information for the DHL Shenzhen warehouse, ship your goods there, and we consolidate and hand over to DHL Hong Kong. Transit was usually 3 working days, stretching to about 5 during flight reductions.

Is there a cheaper option than DHL?

FedEx, TNT and EMS quoted lower on some lanes, but we did not recommend them for masks at that time: across the whole market, only DHL combined stable transit with the best clearance service.
