The 2020 archived DHL tariff for China–Canada shipments — documents, small parcels to 30 kg and big-shipment tiers, valid to May 1, 2020.

Three price families

• Documents — to Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal and all Canadian cities; documents move faster than goods.
• Small packages — typically Taobao purchases consolidated in China (cosmetics, books, luggage) plus e-commerce and company samples; charged per 0.5 kg step below 31 kg.
• Big shipments — charged per kilogram from 31 kg up. Note the unit is the kilogram, not the North American pound.

Worked example

Using the list, the average China–Canada DHL price works out to roughly RMB 40 per kilogram before surcharges — weigh the goods, read the tier, add the monthly fuel surcharge.

DHL vs. FedEx to Canada

DHL was cheaper for small packages, while FedEx economy beat DHL on big shipments above 100 kg or packages over 120 cm.

Booking through the agent

The DHL agent account price applies to goods delivered to the Shenzhen forwarder warehouse; there is no door-to-door pickup on this tariff. Goods from other cities — Yiwu, Xiamen, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nanjing, Qingdao, Xi'an, Chongqing, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Lanzhou, Xining, Baoji, Dalian, Changsha, Nanchang, Guangzhou and Dongguan — were fed to Shenzhen by domestic express.

Mask shipments

DHL carried masks from China to Canada with stable service; personal imports of about 3,000 masks under 10 kg cleared smoothly at the time. Masks were not detained or requisitioned by either customs administration when declared normally.
