Fiji is served through two consignment points: Suva, the capital port on Viti Levu, and Lautoka, the sugar and industrial port on the same island. Xiamen reaches Lautoka through Suva; the Ningbo routing goes the long way round through Auckland and takes 50 days.
Shantou is the only origin in our records with genuine volume-tier pricing to Fiji, so larger consignments get progressively cheaper — USD 187 per CBM below 1 CBM, falling to USD 169 per CBM once the shipment passes 3 CBM.

Volume tiers. Only the Shantou–Suva lane is tiered. Because the tier is set by the total shipment volume, consolidating several orders into one bill of lading is the cheapest way to reach the USD 169 per CBM band.
Routing note. The Ningbo lane is described in the source as transhipping via “Oakland”; on the Pacific islands trade this is an obvious mis-entry for Auckland, and the 50-day transit is consistent with the New Zealand routing. We have corrected it here — reconfirm the actual transhipment port at booking.
Destination. Both Suva and Lautoka levy destination terminal and documentation charges, billed locally by the Fijian agent and not included in the ocean freight.
Suva or Lautoka?
Suva is the main gateway and handles the widest range of vessels, which is why Xiamen can offer Lautoka at USD 121 per CBM by feeding through Suva rather than sailing direct. Lautoka sits on the western side of Viti Levu and suits cargo destined for Nadi, the sugar belt or the western resorts; delivery from Suva to Lautoka by road takes about half a day.
Documentation for Fiji
Fiji requires a customs import entry lodged by the consignee or their broker before release. Fijian quarantine is strict on timber packaging — make sure any solid-wood crates carry an ISPM 15 heat-treatment or fumigation mark, or the cargo can be held and treated at your cost.
