Billing Method for Express Delivery

For shipments weighing up to 20.5 kg (inclusive), fractions of less than 0.5 kg will be charged as 0.5 kg. For shipments weighing over 21 kg (inclusive), fractions of less than 1 kg will be charged as 1 kg.

The chargeable weight is the greater of the actual weight and the volumetric weight. Volumetric weight = (length (cm) x width (cm) x height (cm)) / 5000

Example:

A shipment from Shanghai to Douala has dimensions of 45 cm x 42 cm x 17 cm and an actual weight of 3 kg. Its volumetric weight is 45 * 42 * 17 / 5000 ≈ 6.5 kg. Since 6.5 kg is greater than 3 kg, the chargeable weight for this shipment is 6.5 kg.

Hong Kong DHL Express

Hong Kong DHL does not accept the following types of shipments:

Shipments with a chargeable weight exceeding 300 kg per piece

Shipments with a total chargeable weight exceeding 3000 kg per shipment. Shipments exceeding 1000 kg require booking and cannot be shipped until booking is confirmed

Shipments with a single side exceeding 300 cm

Shipments must be properly packaged. Naked packaging, irregular packaging, etc. are not accepted

These two air freight volume weight calculation formulas are standard calculation formulas commonly used by airpnes worldwide.
Example:
If the total volume and weight on the air freight bill are 1 cubic meter, 130 kg, and 8 cartons of goods, and the dimensions of the cartons are 505050 cm, respectively, then the total volume weight is:
8 * (505050) / 6000 = 166.6666 KGS = 167 kg
Since 167 kg is greater than 130 kg, the volume weight is greater than the actual weight of the goods. Therefore, this shipment is considered dimensional weight and will be charged based on volume weight.
