Freight collect means when cargo arrive destination, than consignee pay the freight. Shipper is willing to risk. Because there will be consignee who won’t pick up the cargo won’t pay the freight. So most of time shipper doesn’t agree this payment way in international freight shipping business.
International sea freight collect: Consignee have contract price with shipping company and have one “contract number”. Before cargo be finished, shipper or China local freight forwarder uses this “contract number” booking spaces from shipping company. Sea freight default collection. There are “Freight Collect” in the seaway bill.
International air freight collect: International air freight collect: generally shipper and air cargo companies are not accept “freight collect”. Because after cargo arrange to fly out, shipper cannot handle this shipment.
Global courier freight collect: Consignee have agreement which global courier company gets an account from their company. Shipper who is in China can use this “account” and consignee company name, sending packages direct don’t need pay courier freight. Freight charges debit from consignee account.
International railway transportation freight collect: This way cannot confirm whether using freight or not after cargo leaves China..
Other freight collect: Chinese freight forwarding have contract which their clients, agree on how to pay the freight charges.
