LCL sea freight from China to Slovakia (Košice & Bratislava) — 2026 reference rates

Slovakia is landlocked and served through Koper in Slovenia for the eastern city of Košice, and through Prague for the capital, Bratislava. Two quite different routings for the same country, with a measurable difference in cost.
Tianjin offers the best combination: USD 35 per CBM to Košice in 27 days and USD 34 to Bratislava in 28 days. Jiangmen is the cheapest single figure at USD 30 per CBM to Košice, but our records do not give its transit or routing.
How to read these rates: figures are indicative reference levels for port-to-port LCL ocean freight, updated for October 2026. They exclude origin haulage, warehouse and customs charges, destination port charges and any surcharges. Space, cut-off times and rates must be re-confirmed at booking.

Tianjin is the best all-round origin. 27 days to Košice and 28 to Bratislava, at USD 34–35 per CBM. It is both faster and cheaper than the eastern-China origins on the same corridor.
Two routings, two transhipment points. Košice is fed by road from Koper in Slovenia; Bratislava is fed from Prague. The choice of inland destination therefore changes the entire supply chain, not just the last leg.
Jiangmen's figures are incomplete. Our source records a USD 30 per CBM rate to Košice but no transit, routing or carrier detail. We have shown the routing as Koper on the basis of the other Košice lanes, but treat the rate as indicative and ask us to reconfirm before quoting it.
Why the two cities take different routes
Slovakia's geography means the west of the country looks to Vienna, Prague and the German network, while the east looks to the Adriatic through Slovenia and Hungary. Bratislava is barely an hour from Vienna, so a Prague or Austrian gateway makes sense; Košice in the east is 500 km away and is far better served from Koper. Choosing the wrong gateway for your destination is the single easiest way to add a week to a Slovak shipment.
The Koper road leg
Cargo routed via Koper clears EU entry formalities in Slovenia and then moves by road across the Hungarian border into Slovakia. It is a well-established corridor and the transit of 27 days from Tianjin is among the quicker ones we hold for a landlocked European country. As with all EU entries, ENS pre-arrival data is required.
