Reunion Customs Import and Export Taxes
It is impossible to provide very detailed tax rates and thresholds, but we can roughly understand some basic information about Reunion's import and export taxes:
Tariffs: As a member of the European Union, Reunion's tariff policy is consistent
with the EU's common tariff policy. Generally speaking, imported goods are subject to tariffs, and
the tariff rate depends on the type and origin of the goods.
Value Added Tax (TVA): Value Added Tax is an indirect tax commonly levied in France
and Reunion, applicable to almost all goods and services. Imported goods are usually subject to VAT
when they are imported.
Consumption Tax: Certain specific goods, such as tobacco, alcoholic beverages, and
automobiles, may be subject to consumption tax.
Other taxes and fees: In addition to tariffs, VAT and consumption tax, imported
goods may also be subject to other fees, such as statistical taxes, port fees, etc.
