Battery Air Freight from China to the USA, Door to Door DDP: Pure Batteries, E-Mobility and Oversize Units
Shenzhen Bao'an Fuhai warehouseHong Kong / Korea to Los Angeles (LAX)UPS to 48 statesDDP — duty and clearance included
- Channel 1 · Pure batteries — US05-AKR
- Channel 2 · E-mobility — US05-BHK
- Channel 3 · Oversize units — US05-CHK
- Four weight breaks: 21 / 71 / 101 / 501 kg
- ZIP-zone pricing for West, Central and East
- 5–9 days to pickup, UPS 1–6 business days
- Rates valid to 31 October 2026
Batteries fail at the acceptance counter, not in the air. Three things decide whether a battery shipment moves at all: whether the declaration matches the cell, whether the packing instruction is met, and whether the US import entry is filed in a form the carrier can stand behind. A pure battery consignment is Class 9 dangerous goods, so a general air freight channel cannot take it, and should not pretend to.
The rates below cover mainland China origin, transfer through Hong Kong or Korea, pickup at Los Angeles (LAX) and UPS delivery to a US address, quoted in RMB per kilogram. Export declaration, US import clearance and duty are inside the rate — that is DDP, Delivered Duty Paid, so the receiver is not asked for a bond, an importer number or a duty payment.
Three channels split the market by battery format rather than by product name: pure batteries shipped on their own, e-mobility units with a built-in pack, and oversize electric machines that are billed from 101 kg. An e-scooter sent on the pure battery rate, or the reverse, is the most common cause of re-invoicing at the warehouse.
Three channels compared at 21 kg and above
All three channels share one pricing structure: the rate steps down through four weight breaks and steps up from West to East Coast ZIP zones. What separates them is the battery format they accept and the minimum billed weight. Compare at the 21 kg break first, then read the full four-break table for the channel that fits.
| Channel | Typical cargo | US West 21 kg+ | US Central 21 kg+ | US East 21 kg+ | Pickup | Minimum billed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pure batteries US05-AKR | Cells, battery packs, power banks, car batteries | 50.5 | 52.0 | 52.5 | 5–7 days | 21 kg |
| E-mobility US05-BHK | E-scooters, e-bikes, electric wheelchairs | 54.5 | 55.5 | 56.5 | 6–8 days | 21 kg |
| Oversize units US05-CHK | E-motorcycles, tricycles, forklifts, go-karts | 57.0 | 58.0 | 59.0 | 7–9 days | 101 kg |
The oversize channel is billed from 101 kg, so a single 60 kg machine pays for 101. Where one unit bills above 68 kg, the per-unit surcharge in that channel applies on top of the rate.
Why shippers use our battery air channel
Battery freight is decided before the truck reaches the warehouse. These are the points that keep a consignment moving instead of sitting on a rejection shelf.
Capacity on two origins
Pure batteries travel on freighters, never in a passenger cabin, so the origin is fixed to Hong Kong and Korea. Both have daily battery-accepting departures to Los Angeles; waiting for a mainland freighter slot is a slower plan.
Branded, over-spec and oversize packs
Private-label packs, packs above the standard energy limit and very large battery assemblies are all accepted inside the same channel. A single cell over 40 kg is quoted separately but does not require a different route.
One price, duty included
Export declaration, air freight, US clearance, duty and the UPS leg sit inside the per-kilogram rate. The receiver needs no US importer status and no customs bond.
No delivery fee at FBA or commercial addresses
Amazon fulfilment centres and business addresses carry no delivery surcharge. Residence and remote areas do, and those rates are listed line by line so a quote adds up before booking.
The same team takes the cargo and the paperwork
Cargo is received at our Bao'an Fuhai warehouse, where packing method, marks and the document list are checked in one pass. Catching a missing UN38.3 report at receipt costs a day; catching it at the airline counter costs the flight.
Channel fixed before the price
Battery format, cell weight and unit dimensions set the channel. Surcharges for overweight and oversize are calculated into the quote instead of appearing after the cargo has shipped.
Lithium batteries under the air cargo rules
Lithium batteries are not general cargo in air transport. Under the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations they fall in Class 9, miscellaneous dangerous goods, and each UN number carries its own packing instruction, marks and acceptance conditions. This is why a general air channel cannot quote for pure batteries: it holds no Class 9 acceptance authorisation and cannot obtain freighter space.
What follows is the part of the rules that decides routing for these three channels. A cell shipped on its own, a pack inside a device and a battery-electric vehicle sit under three different packing instructions, which is why the same shipment declared under a different UN number lands on a different rate.
| UN number | Cargo | Packing instruction | Acceptance limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| UN3480 | Lithium-ion batteries shipped alone | PI965 | Cargo aircraft only, forbidden on passenger aircraft; state of charge max 30% |
| UN3481 | Lithium-ion cells packed with equipment, or contained in equipment | PI966 / PI967 | Passenger aircraft allowed; packed with equipment and above 2.7 Wh must be at or below 30% state of charge from 2026 |
| UN3090 | Lithium metal batteries shipped alone | PI968 | Cargo aircraft only, forbidden on passenger aircraft |
| UN3091 | Lithium metal cells packed with or contained in equipment | PI969 / PI970 | Passenger aircraft allowed |
| UN3556 / 3557 / 3558 | Vehicles powered by lithium-ion, lithium metal or sodium-ion batteries | PI952 | Above 100 Wh rated energy: state of charge max 30%, or state of charge displayed at or below 25%, from 2026 |
| UN3171 | Battery-powered equipment and vehicles | PI952 | As above |
Channel 1: pure batteries, cells and battery packs
The main export channel for batteries shipped on their own: polymer packs, cells, assembled battery packs, power banks, jump starters and liquid-free car batteries. Flights leave Hong Kong or Korea and are picked up at Los Angeles. The rate falls twice as you read a row — down through four weight breaks, up from West to East Coast as the delivery leg gets longer.
| Delivery area | ZIP zone | 21 kg+ | 71 kg+ | 101 kg+ | 501 kg+ | Pickup | UPS delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US West | ZIP 89xxx | 50.5 | 45.5 | 43.5 | 43.0 | 5–7 days | 1–3 days |
| US Central | ZIP 45/6/7xxx | 52.0 | 46.5 | 44.5 | 44.0 | 5–7 days | 3–4 days |
| US East | ZIP 0/1/2/3xxx | 52.5 | 47.5 | 45.5 | 45.0 | 5–7 days | 4–6 days |
Rates are in RMB per kilogram and already include export declaration, US import clearance, duty and the UPS delivery leg. Surcharges below are charged on top.
- General trade declaration is RMB 350 per shipment; oversize cargo and sensitive goods RMB 500 per shipment
- Boarding via Korea adds RMB 1.0 per kg for the transfer
- A single cell above 10 kg adds RMB 1 per kg, above 30 kg adds RMB 3 per kg, above 40 kg is quoted separately
- Customs inspection arising from the cargo itself or from the declaration data is charged to the shipper, including storage at night
Channel 2: e-scooters, e-bikes and electric wheelchairs
Short-range electric units and power tools with a built-in pack sit in their own channel. Flights leave Hong Kong, which lifts the transfer charge, so the rate runs RMB 4 to 8 per kg above the pure battery channel and pickup stretches to 6–8 days. Unit dimensions and billed weight are both tighter, and oversize plus overweight charges stack.
| Delivery area | ZIP zone | 21 kg+ | 71 kg+ | 101 kg+ | 501 kg+ | Pickup | UPS delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US West | ZIP 89xxx | 54.5 | 53.5 | 48.5 | 48.0 | 6–8 days | 1–3 days |
| US Central | ZIP 45/6/7xxx | 55.5 | 54.5 | 49.5 | 49.0 | 6–8 days | 3–4 days |
| US East | ZIP 0/1/2/3xxx | 56.5 | 55.5 | 50.5 | 50.0 | 6–8 days | 4–6 days |
Rates are in RMB per kilogram and already include export declaration, US import clearance, duty and the UPS delivery leg. Surcharges below are charged on top.
- General trade declaration is RMB 350 per shipment; oversize cargo and sensitive goods RMB 500 per shipment
- Boarding via Hong Kong adds RMB 2.0 per kg for the transfer
- Longest side 120–155 cm, second-longest side from 76 cm, or girth 265–330 cm: RMB 150 per unit
- Billed weight above 30 kg adds RMB 150 per unit; above 41 kg adds RMB 460 per unit
- Girth from 330 cm with billed weight at or below 68 kg and longest side at or below 155 cm: RMB 800 per unit

Channel 3: e-motorcycles, electric forklifts and go-karts
Units that break both the weight and the volume limit move here. Flights also leave Hong Kong, pickup is 7–9 days, the minimum billed weight is 101 kg and the rate runs RMB 4.5 to 8 per kg above pure batteries. Where a single unit bills above 68 kg, the surcharge splits according to whether the whole shipment reaches 250 kg.
| Delivery area | ZIP zone | 21 kg+ | 71 kg+ | 101 kg+ | 501 kg+ | Pickup | UPS delivery |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| US West | ZIP 89xxx | 57.0 | 52.5 | 48.5 | 47.5 | 7–9 days | 1–3 days |
| US Central | ZIP 45/6/7xxx | 58.0 | 53.5 | 49.5 | 48.5 | 7–9 days | 3–4 days |
| US East | ZIP 0/1/2/3xxx | 59.0 | 55.5 | 51.5 | 50.5 | 7–9 days | 4–6 days |
Rates are in RMB per kilogram and already include export declaration, US import clearance, duty and the UPS delivery leg. Surcharges below are charged on top.
- Unit billed weight above 68 kg and shipment under 250 kg: longest side at or below 170 cm, plus RMB 20 per kg and RMB 610 per pallet
- Unit billed weight above 68 kg and shipment above 250 kg: longest side at or below 170 cm, plus RMB 5.0 per kg and RMB 610 per pallet
- Remote addresses are not billed at the standard rate and are confirmed per address
- Boarding via Hong Kong adds RMB 2.0 per kg; declaration fees are the same as the other two channels
Billed weight and minimum charge
All three channels bill on chargeable weight, which is the greater of actual weight and volumetric weight, with volumetric weight calculated as length × width × height in centimetres divided by 6,000. The weight break follows chargeable weight, not the declared customs weight and not a carton count. That detail is why 20.5 kg and 21 kg can sit on two different per-kilogram rates.
- Pure batteries and e-mobility: the rate table starts at 21 kg, and anything billing below 21 kg is charged as 21 kg
- Oversize units: minimum billed weight is 101 kg per shipment
- A single piece reaching 21.85 kg actual weight triggers the overweight surcharge regardless of volumetric weight, and it applies even when volumetric weight stays under 29.85 kg
- A single piece above 67.85 kg leaves the rate table and is quoted separately
Air chargeable weight and customs dutiable weight are two separate systems: the first prices the freight, the second prices the duty. The difference between them, and where disputes usually start, is covered in air freight to the USA.
Surcharges
Three separate charge families apply: weight, dimensions and delivery. One piece can hit more than one at the same time, so a quote should be built on the worst case rather than on the average carton.
Weight and dimensions
| Condition | Surcharge |
|---|---|
| Single piece reaching 21.85 kg actual weight (volumetric within 29.85 kg) | +RMB 150 per piece |
| Single piece above 39.85 kg | +RMB 460 per piece |
| Single piece above 67.85 kg | Quoted separately |
| Longest side above 119 cm, second-longest above 75 cm, or girth 266–329 cm | +RMB 150 per piece, stacked with the overweight charge |
| Girth 330–415 cm | +RMB 850 per piece, with piece weight at or below 68 kg and length at or below 174 cm |
| Girth above 415 cm, weight above 68 kg, or length above 175 cm | Billed from 100 kg minimum, quoted separately |
Girth is the longest side plus twice the sum of the second-longest and the shortest side, in centimetres. Measuring the carton before it leaves the factory is cheaper than having it re-measured at the warehouse.
Single cell weight, pure battery channel only
| Cell weight | Surcharge |
|---|---|
| Above 10 kg | +RMB 1 per kg |
| Above 30 kg | +RMB 3 per kg |
| Above 40 kg | Quoted separately |
Weight, dimension and delivery surcharges are three independent charges. Quoting the worst case up front is clearer than a supplementary invoice after departure.
Delivery coverage and remote-area charges
Delivery covers the 48 contiguous states. PO boxes, military addresses and offshore islands are not served, and ZIP ranges 006–009 (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands), 966–969 (Hawaii, Guam) and 995–999 (Alaska) sit outside the network. Paying does not change that: the only options are pickup at Los Angeles or another transport mode, which makes a ZIP check a necessary step before booking.
Fulfilment centres and commercial addresses carry no delivery charge. Charges appear at residential and remote addresses only, and they are decided by UPS zone data rather than by what the receiver says: an address that is both residential and remote pays both.
| Address type | Charge |
|---|---|
| Amazon FBA and commercial addresses | No delivery surcharge |
| Residential address | +RMB 35 per piece, minimum RMB 350 per shipment; shipments above 350 kg are billed at RMB 1.0 per kg |
| FBA or commercial address, remote | RMB 25 per piece, RMB 30 for super-remote, minimum RMB 150 per shipment |
| Residential address, remote | RMB 35 per piece, RMB 45 for super-remote, minimum RMB 200 per shipment; residential and remote charges stack |
| Extreme remote | RMB 95 per piece, minimum RMB 200 per shipment |
Oversize units are not billed from the table above: remote delivery for a machine is confirmed against the actual address, because cost tracks volume and weight. Sending the ZIP code with the enquiry is faster than reconciling after departure.
The final leg is UPS throughout. How UPS prices a shipment of its own, and what it will and will not carry, is set out in our China–USA air freight service.
Documents needed before the cargo is accepted
The line between battery cargo and general cargo is drawn by documents, not by volume. One missing sheet and the shipment is refused at the airline terminal, not somewhere over the Pacific. Each of the four has its own job and none substitutes for another.
- UN38.3 test report — the eight-test series from section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria: altitude simulation, thermal cycling, vibration, shock, external short circuit, impact and crush, overcharge, forced discharge. It proves the cell itself can be transported.
- MSDS — the safety data sheet, all sixteen sections complete, in English or bilingual.
- Air transport condition identification report — issued by an accredited laboratory, stating the UN number, hazard class and packing requirement.
- Dangerous goods packaging certificate and 1.2 m drop test — required by the carrier for pure batteries, and mandatory where a carton holds a large number of cells or packs.

Packing and marking
Channel notes and the IATA marking rules pull in opposite directions here: the channel asks that nothing on the outer carton mentions batteries, while the dangerous goods rules ask for the lithium battery mark and UN number on one face. The two are reconciled per shipment with the receiving warehouse and the carrier — confirm the version in force for your booking instead of choosing one reading and packing to it.
- Pure batteries: each cell packed separately with terminals insulated against short circuit; this applies to cells above 10 kg as well
- E-mobility and oversize units: the built-in pack may stay in place once insulated and disconnected, and the disconnected state should be recorded at packing
- Outer cartons rigid and square; UN boxes and soft bags are not accepted
- No battery wording on the outer carton unless the carrier confirms it for that shipment
- Carton marks and labels checked at receipt, so a missing or wrong label is caught in China rather than at the US end
Amazon fulfilment centres apply their own label and carton-mark rules, which differ from a commercial address. For FBA-bound battery cargo, the labelling guidance in Amazon FBA shipping to the USA is worth checking before pallets are built.
Before the cut-off
The steps from cargo receipt to cut-off are fixed, and handling them early removes most of the arguments that follow. These apply as written, without exception.
Warehouse receipt, labelling and cut-off
- Chargeable weight is volumetric divided by 6,000, whichever is greater against actual weight. The weight break follows chargeable weight, not declared weight and not a carton count.
- Once a shipment has cut off, returns, holds and address changes are refused. Changes after cut-off wait for the next shipment.
- At least two valid FBA labels per carton plus a Made In China mark. Carton marks and labels are verified once, at receipt.
- No bill of lading data is released for sensitive cargo before the destination releases it. The same applies to shipments with an open inspection.
- Inspection fees and night storage arising from the cargo or its declaration are charged to the shipper. A declaration mismatch is itself a reason for inspection.
- None of the three channels accepts a delay claim. Where cargo is still not picked up 9 business days after departure, we can supply the inspection sheet or the air waybill number for tracing.
Three changes on the US import side in 2026
The USD 800 de minimis allowance is gone
The low-value exemption was suspended for all countries on 29 August 2025 under Executive Order 14324 and extended by a further order on 20 February 2026. CBP has suspended 19 U.S.C. §1321(a)(2)(C) indefinitely by regulation. Battery shipments below USD 800 now need an entry and pay duty; entries under USD 2,500 can still use informal entry. Splitting battery samples into small parcels to stay under the threshold no longer works.
Section 301 duty on non-EV lithium-ion cells rises to 25%
Following the USTR final modifications published on 18 September 2024 (89 FR 76581), the Section 301 duty on non-EV lithium-ion batteries under HTSUS 8507.60.0020 rises from 7.5% to 25% on 1 January 2026. Stacked with the IEEPA and Section 232 actions taken since 2025, the effective rate depends on the HTS classification and the tariff schedule in force on the entry date — last year's table is not a safe estimate. The layered structure is explained under US customs regulations.
Why the DDP rate includes duty
Under DDP the carrier files the import entry as importer of record, or through a designated one, and pays the duty. The receiver pays nothing further and needs neither US importer status nor a customs bond, which is exactly why battery cargo has moved to DDP in recent years. The trade-off is that value and description must be declared truthfully: under-declaration, a wrong description, anti-dumping exposure, missing certification or infringement all sit with the shipper and trigger inspection, seizure or return.
What the transit time actually measures
Pickup time runs from the flight landing at Los Angeles and the cargo being available to UPS; customs inspection is not inside that figure. UPS delivery adds 1–3 business days in the West, 3–4 in the Central zone and 4–6 in the East. Add the two together for the door-to-door cycle: pure batteries to the West Coast are typically 5–7 days to pickup plus 1–3 business days.

Typical shipments
Four shapes of cargo, each mapped to a channel and a rate. Where a shipment does not fit, the reason is usually cell weight or unit dimensions, and the surcharge table settles it before a channel is chosen.
Power banks and battery packs for e-commerce sellers
10,000 mAh to 30,000 mAh power banks and polymer packs, retail-packed, moving to Amazon fulfilment centres. RMB 50.5 per kg at 21 kg+ to the West, falling to RMB 43.0 at 501 kg+. Cells above 10 kg add RMB 1 per kg.
Car starter batteries and jump starters, liquid-free
Lithium jump starters and liquid-free car batteries in retail cartons. Declared as UN3480 with the Wh rating on the invoice; a liquid electrolyte version cannot use this channel at all.
E-scooters and electric wheelchairs
Folding e-scooters at 18–28 kg and electric wheelchairs at 45–60 kg per unit. RMB 54.5 per kg at 21 kg+ to the West. Girth from 330 cm adds RMB 800 per unit, so checking the measurement before packing pays for itself.
Electric forklifts and go-karts
Forklifts, e-motorcycles and go-karts billed from 101 kg. RMB 57.0 per kg at 21 kg+ to the West. A unit above 68 kg billed weight on a shipment under 250 kg adds RMB 20 per kg and RMB 610 per pallet.
Replenishing an Amazon FBA warehouse
Battery products going to FBA need at least two valid labels per carton plus a Made In China mark. FBA and commercial addresses carry no delivery surcharge, and delivery stays inside the 48 contiguous states — ZIP 006–009, 966–969 and 995–999 are outside.
Claims on the battery air channel
A claim starts from one of two points: a shipment that was never picked up, which starts with an FBA inventory check, or cargo already handed to UPS, which starts with a carrier trace. The deadlines differ, and filing the wrong one only gets the file returned.
How to file
- Where part of a shipment is not picked up or not signed for, check FBA inventory first, within 7–10 business days
- From business day 10, submit a screenshot of the FBA inventory showing the units are not received, with the real clock time visible in the corner of the screen, and the claim can be opened
- Nothing is accepted beyond 20 business days
- Once UPS has the cargo, the carrier trace window is 120 days and the outcome follows the carrier's reply
What is paid
| Situation | Settlement |
|---|---|
| Lost in transit, whole shipment never picked up by UPS | Declared value, capped at RMB 40 per kg, with freight refunded |
| Lost after handover to UPS | Freight not refunded; declared value under the UPS terms, capped at USD 100 per shipment |
| Carton or product damage, shortage, or natural disaster during delivery | Not compensated |
| Held by customs for 40 business days or more | Declared value, capped at RMB 40 per kg, with freight refunded |
High-value battery cargo should be insured separately; the carrier does not cover it. A whole shipment that UPS simply missed scanning is a known gap, and the terms place it on the shipper rather than on the claim process. Duty or seizure arising from under-declaration, a wrong description, anti-dumping exposure, missing certification or infringement sits with the shipper and falls outside the table above.
Customs seizure: a claim opens only after 40 business days from the seizure date. Seizures caused by under-declaration, a wrong description, anti-dumping, missing certification or infringement are excluded.
How the terms take effect: accepting the booking confirms the rate sheet and its notes.
Rate validity: 31 October 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Can pure batteries be flown to the USA?
Yes, but not on a general air freight channel. A pure battery is Class 9 dangerous goods shipped under UN3480, which needs a dedicated battery channel and the full document set. A general channel cannot accept it and should not try.
How much does battery air freight cost per kilogram?
It depends on the cargo and the weight break. Pure batteries to the US West are RMB 50.5 per kg at 21 kg+, falling to RMB 43.0 at 501 kg+; to the East, RMB 52.5 falling to RMB 45.0. E-mobility runs RMB 48.0–56.5 and oversize units RMB 47.5–59.0. All rates are per kilogram, duty paid and delivered, with surcharges on top.
Which channel do built-in battery electronics use?
Ordinary consumer electronics with a built-in pack — phone accessories, Bluetooth devices, small appliances — are cheaper on the general battery-item air channel, which prices well below the battery channel. Pure batteries, spare packs and electric vehicles cannot use that channel and must be declared on a battery channel.
What happens with a single cell over 10 kg?
The pure battery channel still takes it, with a surcharge by cell weight: RMB 1 per kg above 10 kg, RMB 3 per kg above 30 kg, and a separate quote above 40 kg. Individual packing and insulated terminals remain mandatory.
Which documents does battery air freight need?
Four: a UN38.3 test report, an MSDS, an air transport condition identification report, and — as the carrier requires — a dangerous goods packaging certificate with a 1.2 m drop test. Missing paperwork means refusal at the terminal, a return to the warehouse and a missed flight.
What state of charge is allowed?
Cells shipped alone must be at or below 30% of rated capacity. From 1 January 2026 that also applies to cells packed with equipment above 2.7 Wh; cells contained in equipment remain at a recommended level. Vehicles above 100 Wh rated energy must also stay at or below 30%.
Can e-scooters and e-motorcycles be shipped?
Yes. The e-mobility channel takes scooters, e-bikes, electric wheelchairs and unicycles; the oversize channel takes e-motorcycles, tricycles, forklifts, go-karts and stair climbers. Dimensions and billed weight are checked against the surcharge table before a booking is confirmed.
Can you deliver to a residential address?
Yes, at RMB 35 per piece with a RMB 350 minimum per shipment, or RMB 1.0 per kg above 350 kg. Remote charges stack on top: RMB 35 per piece for remote, RMB 45 for super-remote, minimum RMB 200 per shipment.
Do you deliver to Hawaii, Alaska or Puerto Rico?
No. ZIP ranges 006–009 (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands), 966–969 (Hawaii, Guam) and 995–999 (Alaska) are outside the network, as are PO boxes and military addresses.
Does a ZIP starting with 9 always mean the US West?
The West zone in the table is 89xxx, which covers the common range rather than every case. Other 9-prefix ZIPs and some 8-prefix ZIPs are assigned by the carrier's zone data, so a ZIP check before quoting avoids pricing on the wrong zone.
Does the rate include duty, and what exactly is inside DDP?
It does. DDP covers export declaration, air freight, US import clearance, duty and the UPS delivery leg. Outside the rate are surcharges: overweight and oversize, residential and remote delivery, inspection fees and night storage, and oversize units quoted separately.
Who pays if customs inspects the cargo?
Inspection fees and night storage rest with the shipper where the inspection arises from the cargo itself or from its declaration. A declaration mismatch is itself a cause of inspection and sits with the shipper, so it cannot be passed to the channel.
How are losses settled?
A shipment lost before UPS pickup is settled at declared value, capped at RMB 40 per kg, with freight refunded. Loss after handover to UPS is settled under the UPS terms at declared value, capped at USD 100 per shipment, without a freight refund. Damage and shortage are not compensated. Insure high-value cargo.
Why can't a general air channel take pure batteries?
A general channel declares cargo as non-dangerous and holds no IATA Class 9 acceptance authorisation, and it cannot obtain freighter space. UN3480 cargo is forbidden in passenger aircraft, so it has to move on a battery channel — which is why the rate sits above general cargo.
Can the outer carton show battery wording?
The channel note asks for no battery wording on the carton, while the IATA marking rule asks for the lithium battery mark and UN number on one face. The two pull in opposite directions, so follow what the receiving warehouse and the carrier confirm for that shipment; if in doubt, photograph the carton and clear it before sealing.
How long are these rates valid?
To 31 October 2026. Air capacity and tariff treatment both move the per-kilogram rate directly, so a shipment crossing the month end is re-confirmed at the rate then in force.
Where is the cargo received?
Only at our Shenzhen Bao'an Fuhai warehouse. Cargo received in Guangzhou, Quanzhou, Yiwu or Langfang carries an additional domestic transfer charge, calculated on the actual transfer cost.
