- Channel 5 · Agri inputs — US07-EKR
- Four weight breaks: 21 / 71 / 101 / 501 kg
- ZIP-zone pricing for West, Central and East
- Five channels split by product attribute
- Rates valid to 31 October 2026
Price follows product attribute here, not weight. The same 3 kg carton of sampling tubes and of supplements sits in two different channels, and at 21 kg+ the gap between them is around RMB 20 per kilogram.
The rates below cover mainland China origin, transfer through Korea, pickup at Los Angeles (LAX) and UPS delivery to a US address, in RMB per kilogram with export declaration, US import clearance and duty inside — DDP, Delivered Duty Paid. The receiver does not need US importer status or a customs bond.
Five channels split by attribute: sampling tubes, personal care, packaged food, supplements and medicines, and agri inputs. A mixed carton is charged at the strictest tier it contains, so splitting a shipment is often cheaper than consolidating it.
Five channels compared at 21 kg and above
The spread between channels comes from document and inspection cost, not from weight. Supplements sit at the top because the paperwork is heaviest and the regulatory attention highest; sampling tubes sit at the bottom because the liquid volume per unit is small and the packaging is standardised. Compare at the 21 kg break, then read the four-break table for the channel that fits.
| Channel | Typical cargo | US West 21 kg+ | US Central 21 kg+ | US East 21 kg+ | Pickup | Minimum billed |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sampling tubes US07-AKR | Body fluid, blood draw and reagent tubes (liquid under 10 ml) | 46.0 | 47.0 | 48.0 | 5–7 days | 21 kg |
| Personal care US07-BKR | Alcohol gel, disinfecting wipes, functional wipes (under 30 ml) | 51.0 | 52.0 | 53.0 | 6–8 days | 21 kg |
| Packaged food US07-CKR | Tea, dried goods, seasoning, instant food (under 30 ml / 30 g) | 56.0 | 57.0 | 58.0 | 7–9 days | 21 kg |
| Supplements US07-DKR | Supplements, vitamins, ointments, patent medicine, patches | 66.0 | 67.0 | 68.0 | 7–9 days | 21 kg |
| Agri inputs US07-EKR | Growing media, flower fertiliser, minerals, organic pesticide | 61.0 | 62.0 | 63.0 | 7–9 days | 21 kg |
Supplements and medicines are the most expensive tier because documents and inspection costs are the highest; sampling tubes are the cheapest because the liquid volume per unit is small and packaging is standardised. A mixed shipment pays the strictest tier — sending them as two shipments is usually clearer.
Why five channels instead of one
A single rate for food, medicine and fertiliser would either overprice the simple cargo or underprice the regulated cargo. Splitting by attribute is what makes the cheap tiers possible.
Routed by attribute, not by product name
Sampling tubes, personal care, food, supplements and agri inputs each carry their own acceptance conditions. A mixed shipment pays the strictest tier, so separating them up front captures an obvious saving.
Special rates for small formats
Sampling tubes under 10 ml of liquid, personal care under 30 ml and powdered food under 30 g can be quoted as a special case, which is where multi-SKU, low-volume exporters gain most.
Document requirements stated plainly
Safety data sheet, letter of guarantee, production licence and intact commercial packaging are listed channel by channel, with which items are mandatory and which can follow, so the quote matches what the warehouse will actually accept.
FDA and USDA requirements set out early
Food needs an FDA Prior Notice and facility registration; animal or plant ingredients may need an APHIS permit. These are importer obligations, and raising them before departure avoids a scramble at arrival.
Duty inside the rate
Export declaration, US clearance, duty and the UPS leg sit inside the per-kilogram rate, so the receiver needs no US importer status.
No delivery fee at FBA or commercial addresses
Charges appear at residential and remote addresses only, listed line by line, so a quote can be built down to the item.
FDA and USDA requirements on food and medicine
Food does not clear the US border on arrival; the filing happens before departure. Under the Bioterrorism Act and the Food Safety Modernization Act, imported food must be covered by an FDA Prior Notice before it arrives — at least four hours ahead for air, eight for ocean and two for rail. The notice is filed through the FDA Prior Notice System Interface or the CBP ACE single window, and carries the product code, manufacturer, shipper, importer and estimated arrival details.
Two obligations sit with the importer alongside it. Food facility registration is required for facilities that manufacture, process, pack or store food for the US market, and must be renewed between 1 October and 31 December of every even year. The Foreign Supplier Verification Program requires the US importer to assess and verify its foreign supplier, and the ACE entry has to carry the FSVP importer name and the unique facility identifier (DUNS).
Cargo of animal or plant origin adds a third layer. Products containing meat, dairy, fresh fruit or vegetables may fall under USDA FSIS or APHIS admission requirements and need an import permit or a phytosanitary certificate. Chinese herbal ingredients and soup packs are assessed on their actual composition, so a blanket answer is not possible.
| Requirement | Applies to | Who files it |
|---|---|---|
| FDA Prior Notice | Imported food, unless exempt | Importer or its broker, at least 4 hours before arrival by air |
| Food facility registration | Facilities producing food for the US market | The facility, renewed 1 Oct – 31 Dec of even years |
| FSVP supplier verification | The US importer | The importer, with name and DUNS on the ACE entry |
| APHIS permit and phytosanitary certificate | Products with animal or plant ingredients | The importer, confirmed against the actual composition |
| Safety data sheet and letter of guarantee | Supplements, medicines, agri inputs | The shipper, verified before receipt |

- Production licence, undamaged packaging, safety data sheet and letter of guarantee required
- Materials of animal or plant origin may fall under APHIS admission requirements, confirmed on the import side
Billed weight and minimum charge
All five channels bill on chargeable weight, the greater of actual and volumetric weight, with volumetric calculated as length × width × height in centimetres divided by 6,000. Tea, dried mushrooms and wipes are light for their volume, so the volumetric figure is usually closer to the real cost than the scale reading.
- The rate table starts at 21 kg; anything billing below 21 kg is charged as 21 kg
- A single piece reaching 21.85 kg triggers the overweight surcharge at RMB 215 per piece
- 10–22 kg per piece is the practical range; light, bulky cargo is priced on volumetric weight
- A single piece above 67.85 kg leaves the rate table and is quoted separately
Surcharges
Weight and dimension surcharges are calculated per piece and stack with each other. Dried goods and wipes hit the dimension charge more often than the weight charge.
Weight and dimensions
| Condition | Surcharge |
|---|---|
| Single piece reaching 21.85 kg (volumetric within 29.85 kg) | +RMB 215 per piece |
| Single piece above 39.85 kg | +RMB 460 per piece |
| Single piece above 67.85 kg | Quoted separately |
| Longest side above 119 cm, second-longest above 75 cm, or girth 266–329 cm | +RMB 215 per piece, stacked with the overweight charge |
| Girth 330–415 cm | +RMB 425 per piece, with piece weight at or below 68 kg and length at or below 174 cm |
| Girth above 415 cm, weight above 68 kg, or length above 175 cm | Billed from 100 kg minimum, quoted separately |
Girth is the longest side plus twice the sum of the second-longest and the shortest side, in centimetres. For light food cargo, carton dimensions move the bill more than weight does.
Delivery coverage and remote-area charges
Delivery covers the 48 contiguous states. PO boxes, military addresses and offshore islands are not served; ZIP 006–009 (Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands), 966–969 (Hawaii, Guam) and 995–999 (Alaska) fall outside the network, and payment does not open them.
Fulfilment centres and commercial addresses carry no delivery charge. Charges apply at residential and remote addresses only, decided by UPS zone data, and an address that is both residential and remote pays both.
| Address type | Charge |
|---|---|
| Amazon FBA and commercial addresses | No delivery surcharge |
| Residential address | +RMB 35 per piece, minimum RMB 350 per shipment; above 350 kg billed at RMB 1.0 per kg |
| FBA or commercial address, remote | RMB 25 per piece, RMB 30 for super-remote, minimum RMB 150 per shipment |
| Residential address, remote | RMB 35 per piece, RMB 45 for super-remote, minimum RMB 200 per shipment; charges stack |
| Extreme remote | RMB 95 per piece, minimum RMB 200 per shipment |
The delivery leg is UPS throughout. How a UPS service of its own prices and what it accepts is covered under air freight to the USA.
Documents required before the cargo is accepted
Document requirements are layered by channel: sampling tubes need the least, supplements and medicines the most. The common floor is a production licence and intact commercial packaging, which none of the five channels waives.
- Safety data sheet and letter of guarantee — mandatory for supplements, medicines and agri inputs, and for any personal care product with an alcohol formulation. The letter is the shipper's confirmation that the declared name and ingredients match.
- Production licence and commercial packaging — the shared threshold across all five channels. No licence, no manufacturer name or damaged packaging means no receipt.
- Manufacturer production date — required for reprocessed food such as meat floss and dried fruit, with packaging intact. Food without a production date, or past its date, cannot be shipped.
- FDA reference numbers — the Prior Notice and facility registration are handled by the importer or its agent. On a DDP shipment we file the entry, but product-side registration and listing stay with the owner of the goods.

Packing and marking
The risk for food and medicine in one carton is cross-contamination and odour transfer, not weight. Separating categories is the first rule; sealing liquids and ointments independently is the second.
- Liquids and ointments sealed individually so a leak cannot reach food in the same carton
- Food and non-food packed in separate cartons, to avoid taint and cross-contamination
- Tea and dried goods in a moisture-barrier bag
- Outer cartons rigid and square; UN boxes and soft bags are not accepted
- 10–22 kg gross per piece; light, bulky cargo billed on volumetric weight
Before the cut-off
The steps from receipt to cut-off are fixed. For food and medicine the cost of missing one is higher, because an inspection that starts at the US end rarely ends quickly.
Warehouse receipt, labelling and cut-off
- Chargeable weight is volumetric divided by 6,000, whichever is greater against actual weight. The weight break follows chargeable weight, not declared weight.
- After cut-off, returns, holds and address changes are refused.
- At least two valid FBA labels per carton plus a Made In China mark, checked once at receipt.
- No bill of lading data is released before the destination releases the cargo, including shipments with an open inspection.
- Inspection fees and night storage arising from the cargo or its declaration rest with the shipper.
- No delay compensation applies on any of the five channels. Where cargo is not picked up 9 business days after departure, the inspection sheet or air waybill number can be supplied.
Three changes on the US import side in 2026
The USD 800 de minimis allowance is gone
The low-value exemption was suspended on 29 August 2025 under Executive Order 14324 and extended by a further order on 20 February 2026, and CBP has suspended 19 U.S.C. §1321(a)(2)(C) indefinitely by regulation. Small parcels of food and supplements now need an entry and pay duty; entries under USD 2,500 can use informal entry. The old method of splitting shipments into small parcels has to be rebuilt.
Low-value food still has to clear the FDA bar
With the exemption gone, the Prior Notice, product code, facility registration and FSVP importer identifier all have to appear correctly on the entry. There is no longer a low-value corner where the detail did not matter. For air freight the Prior Notice deadline is four hours before arrival. Multi-parcel, multi-batch shipping is the model most affected.
Why the DDP rate includes duty
Under DDP the carrier files the import entry and pays duty, so the receiver pays nothing further and needs neither importer status nor a bond. The trade-off is that value and description must be truthful, and food and supplements have less tolerance for a loose declaration than general cargo.
What the transit time actually measures
Pickup time counts from landing at Los Angeles to the cargo being available to UPS; inspection and public holidays are not counted inside it. Sampling tubes are 5–7 days to pickup at the US West plus 1–3 business days for delivery; personal care runs 6–8 days; food, supplements and agri inputs run 7–9 days plus 4–6 business days at the far end.

Typical shipments
One scenario per channel. Where a shipment does not fit, the attribute usually spans two tiers, which means declaring at the strictest one or splitting the cargo into two shipments.
Sampling tubes and test kits
Nucleic acid sampling tubes, vacuum blood tubes and rapid test tubes at 3–10 ml of liquid per unit. RMB 46.0 per kg at 21 kg+ to the West, falling to RMB 38.5 at 501 kg+ — the lowest price of the five channels.
Hand sanitiser and wipes
75% alcohol gel sanitiser, alcohol wipes and functional wipes in packs up to 30 ml. From RMB 51.0 per kg to the West. An alcohol formulation is declared as a flammable liquid and the flash point must be on the safety data sheet.
Chinese food ingredients and seasoning
Soup packs, dried mushrooms, tea, hot pot base and soy sauce. From RMB 56.0 per kg to the West. Whether a plant ingredient falls under an APHIS permit is decided by its actual composition.
Supplements and patent medicines
Vitamins, plant-extract oral liquids, patent medicines and medicated patches. From RMB 66.0 per kg to the West — the most expensive tier, with the heaviest paperwork: safety data sheet, letter of guarantee and production licence, none optional.
Growing media and flower fertiliser
Indoor plant growing media, flower fertiliser, chemical minerals and organic pesticide. From RMB 61.0 per kg to the West. Material of animal or plant origin may need an APHIS permit on the import side.
Claims on the food and medicine channel
A claim starts either from a shipment that was never picked up, which begins with an FBA inventory check, or from cargo already with UPS, which begins with a carrier trace. The deadlines differ and the wrong route is returned.
How to file
- Where part of a shipment is not picked up or not signed for, check FBA inventory first, within 7–10 business days
- From business day 10, submit a screenshot of the FBA inventory showing the units are not received, with the real clock time visible on screen, and the claim can be opened
- Nothing is accepted beyond 20 business days
- Once UPS holds the cargo, the carrier trace window is 120 days and the result follows the carrier's reply
What is paid
| Situation | Settlement |
|---|---|
| Lost in transit, whole shipment never picked up by UPS | Declared value, capped at RMB 40 per kg, with freight refunded |
| Lost after handover to UPS | Freight not refunded; declared value under the UPS terms, capped at USD 100 per shipment |
| Carton or product damage, shortage, or natural disaster during delivery | Not compensated |
| Held by customs for 40 business days or more | Declared value, capped at RMB 40 per kg, with freight refunded |
High-value food and supplement cargo should be insured separately. Damage and shortage in delivery are outside the settlement table. Seizure arising from under-declaration, a wrong description, missing certification or infringement rests with the shipper, and FDA-related rejections follow the same rule.
Customs seizure: a claim opens only after 40 business days from the seizure date. Seizures from under-declaration, a wrong description, anti-dumping, missing certification or infringement are excluded.
How the terms take effect: accepting the booking confirms the rate sheet and its notes.
Rate validity: 31 October 2026.
Frequently asked questions
Can food be flown to the USA?
Yes. Tea, dried goods, seasoning, instant food and some drinks are all within scope. White solids and white powders are not accepted, and products containing meat or dairy may fall under USDA admission requirements that have to be confirmed against the actual composition.
How much does food and medicine air freight cost per kilogram?
Sampling tubes run RMB 38.5–48.0 per kg, personal care RMB 43.5–53.0, packaged food RMB 48.5–58.0, supplements and medicines RMB 58.5–68.0, and agri inputs RMB 53.5–63.0. All rates are per kilogram and include declaration, duty and delivery.
Why are supplements and medicines the most expensive?
Because the documents and inspection costs are the highest. A safety data sheet, a letter of guarantee and a production licence are all required, and medicines attract closer regulatory attention, so the channel carries more inspection and seizure risk.
Can wine and drinks be shipped?
Non-pressurised drinks and wine below 17.5% are within scope. Alcohol imports fall under US alcohol regulation, and the import permits are obtained by the importer — a DDP channel handles transport and the entry, not a liquor licence.
Do Chinese herbal ingredients and soup packs fall under controls?
It depends on the composition. Common soup pack ingredients such as preserved dates, coix seed, lotus seed, Chinese yam, codonopsis and astragalus are within scope. Anything containing endangered plant or animal material may fall under CITES and cannot be shipped.
Does food need to be declared before it arrives?
Yes. Unless exempt, imported food needs an FDA Prior Notice before arrival, at least four hours ahead by air. Food facility registration and FSVP importer verification are separate obligations that sit with the importer.
Is FDA registration the forwarder's job or the shipper's?
Facility registration and product listing belong to the manufacturing facility and the responsible person named on the label. The Prior Notice and the customs entry are filed by us under DDP. They are different obligations and one does not stand in for the other.
Are there special rules for sampling tubes?
Up to 10 ml of liquid per retail pack can be quoted as a special case, and anything above 15 ml must be confirmed per shipment. A production licence and undamaged commercial packaging are required.
Is alcohol hand sanitiser dangerous goods?
75% alcohol gel is declared as a flammable liquid and is dangerous goods. In packs up to 30 ml it can move on the personal care tier at a special rate; a single container above 300 ml is confirmed per shipment.
Can meat floss and dried fruit be shipped?
Yes. Reprocessed meat floss and dried fruit with a manufacturer production date and intact packaging are within scope. Fresh meat is not accepted, as it falls under FSIS admission requirements.
Are there limits on powdered seasoning?
Powder containing white powder is not accepted. Coloured spices such as five-spice, star anise, bouillon, cumin, chilli and Sichuan pepper can move, and 100 g packs can be quoted as a special case.
How long does it take to reach the USA?
Sampling tubes are 5–7 days to pickup, personal care 6–8 days, and food, supplements and agri inputs 7–9 days, measured from landing at Los Angeles to handover to UPS and excluding inspection.
What happens if the cargo is seized by customs?
After 40 business days from the seizure date a claim can open: declared value, capped at RMB 40 per kg, with freight refunded. Seizures from under-declaration, a wrong description or missing certification rest with the shipper and are outside the settlement.
Can you deliver to a residential address?
Yes, at RMB 35 per piece with a RMB 350 minimum per shipment, or RMB 1.0 per kg above 350 kg. Remote charges stack: RMB 35 per piece for remote, RMB 45 for super-remote, minimum RMB 200 per shipment.
Do you deliver to Hawaii or Alaska?
No. ZIP 006–009, 966–969 and 995–999 are outside the delivery area, as are PO boxes and military addresses.
Does the rate include duty?
Yes. DDP covers export declaration, air freight, US import clearance and duty, and the UPS delivery leg. Surcharges come on top: overweight and oversize, residential and remote delivery, inspection fees and night storage.
Which warehouse receives the cargo?
Only our Shenzhen Bao'an Fuhai warehouse. Cargo received in Guangzhou, Quanzhou, Yiwu or Langfang carries an additional domestic transfer charge.
How long are these rates valid?
To 31 October 2026. A shipment crossing the month end is re-confirmed at the rate then in force.
