The Cape Verde islands are served on our Europe route: boxes ride to Leixões in northern Portugal and feeder across the Atlantic to Praia on Santiago or Mindelo on São Vicente. Minimum shipment is 2 CBM, and both standard and express warehouse services are available at each origin.
Rates differ mainly by warehouse class — the express box bills at 1 CBM = 500 kg and costs USD 12–21 more per cubic metre — rather than by destination island.
How to read these rates: figures are indicative reference levels for port-to-port LCL ocean freight, updated for October 2026. They exclude origin haulage, warehouse and customs charges, destination port charges and any surcharges. Space, cut-off times and rates must be re-confirmed at booking.

Standard warehouse services convert chargeable weight at 1 CBM = 1,000 kg; express warehouse at 1 CBM = 500 kg. Dense cargo pays far less on the standard box.
Origin cargo must clear China's customs-supervised warehouse requirements — ISPM-15 fumigated wooden crating and completed export declarations — or the box will be held before sailing.
Choosing the island and the warehouse
Praia (Santiago) is the administrative capital and takes most commercial cargo; Mindelo (São Vicente) serves the northern islands and the port community. Rates between the two differ by only USD 9 per CBM, so choose by consignee location. The express warehouse is only worth its premium for heavy, compact cargo where the 500 kg conversion is genuinely binding.
Worked example
Twelve cartons of tool gloves ex-Tianjin: 2 CBM and 1,800 kg. At 1 CBM = 1,000 kg the weight basis equals 1.8 CBM — below the actual volume — so freight bills on 2 CBM at USD 36: USD 72 ocean freight. Note the 2 CBM minimum: a 1.5 CBM shipment would still pay for 2.
